A microschool is an amazing mix between homeschooling and a private school. Your child will get a high-quality education surrounded by peers without all of the nonessential parts of a traditional school. With a microschool, your child will be taught in a small group or individual setting using various, high-quality curricula, while still having fun and enjoying learning again.

Who We Are

Hello! I’m Sarah Horn, a licensed elementary teacher with experience in public, private, homeschool, and hybrid education. I have a deep passion for children and learning, and my heart is to educate students through a small, one-room schoolhouse setting that blends strong academics with biblical values.

I’m the wife of a children’s pastor and a mom of two. Through my family life, professional experiences, and my role in children’s ministry, I’ve gained meaningful experience supporting children with diverse needs beyond the classroom.

I personally experienced Christian schooling, homeschooling, and hybrid education growing up, which shaped my belief in the power and flexibility of alternative education models. These experiences ultimately led me to teach in a Christian school and later in public education—each strengthening my passion for creating something different.

Since founding Kairos Academy, I’ve also served as a regional coordinator for the Indiana Microschool Network, helping grow and support microschools across Southern Indiana. Micro and hybrid education are incredibly close to my heart, and I’m excited to see this movement continue to grow.
