Our Story

Kairos Academy was created from my desire as a public school teacher to see a change in my educational career, and a change in the way students are educated. I didn't want to leave education, but I desired something different and more meaningful. Education can be fun, explorative, and individualized. Kairos Academy was created to give families in Southern Indiana the opportunity to explore these other options in a safe, faith-based environment.

Be a part of this amazing educational journey with me!

Why choose a microschool?

Do you wish that your children could have the homeschooling experience and environment but you feel unqualified or don't have the time?

Are you tired of the public school structures and headaches?

Have you experienced disappointment at a private school when you've expected more?

If so, Kairos Academy is perfect for you!

A microschool is an amazing mix between homeschooling and a private school. Your child will get a high-quality education surrounded by peers without all of the nonessential parts of a traditional school. With a microschool, your child will be taught in a small group or individual setting using various, high-quality curricula, while still having fun and enjoying learning again.

Who We Are

Kairos Academy was founded by Sarah Horn, a licensed elementary teacher with experience in public, private, homeschool, and hybrid education. She is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences for children through a small, one-room schoolhouse model that combines strong academics with biblical values.

As the wife of a children’s pastor and a mother of two, Sarah has gained valuable experience supporting children with a wide range of needs both inside and outside the classroom. Her background in children’s ministry, along with her professional teaching experience, has shaped her relational and individualized approach to education.

Sarah personally experienced Christian schooling, homeschooling, and hybrid education throughout her own childhood. Those experiences helped form her belief in the value and flexibility of alternative education models and ultimately led her to teach in both Christian and public school settings. Each experience strengthened her vision for creating something different for families seeking a more personalized educational option.

Since founding Kairos Academy, Sarah has also served as a regional coordinator for the Indiana Microschool Network, helping support and grow microschools across Southern Indiana. Microschooling and hybrid education remain deeply important to her, and she is excited to continue serving families through this growing movement.

Sarah and the team at Kairos Educational Solutions would be honored to partner with families during this season of learning and growth.
